Chapter 3's Figure 1, a bar chart, depicts the age distribution of the California 33-year Follow-up Study sample of heroin addicts in 1992. The largest number of persons in the sample were 50 to 54 years of age (N = 245). There were five people in the 70 to 74 year-old group and six people in the 75 or older age group.
