Chapter 2's Figure 5 is a bar chart illustrating the percentage of females aged 12 or older reporting cigarette use during the past month, by time period and geographic area in 2000 and 2001. It shows that the rate of cigarette use among females from the NY CMSA declined slightly in 2001, from 21.4 percent in the first three quarters to 19.8 percent in the fourth.
