Figure C.1, graph 1, is a line graph showing the percentages of youths aged 12 to 17 reporting lifetime and past year use of cigarettes, by the age of the respondent and gender. The graph indicates that both lifetime and past year cigarette use were markedly higher among older youths than younger youths, and that this difference was consistent for both males and females.
